The Madious
We photographed our first wedding in 2007 with zero experience. While it was difficult and hot, it was amazing to connect with people and be part of something so lovely and important. In 2012, we had a beautiful and intimate wedding in Antigua, Guatemala. After reliving our big day through the incredible photographs irrevocably changed the way we approach wedding photography.

We realized then what a treasure it is to capture real, significant moments in a thoughtful way. Artful pictures are great, meaningful images are priceless. Combining the two is transcendent. Our motivation to become better 'moment hunters' led us to brave Foundation Workshop in early 2014. It was incredibly challenging but definitely worth the effort.

Real growth never comes easy. Here we are, 10 years from where we began, still in love with each other and what we do. Our new name and brand are meant to reflect who we are and what drives us as wedding photographers. My dream is to travel somewhere amazing each year, to enjoy my marriage, to delight in the happiness of people I love, and to laugh as much as possible.

Aly and Alejandro's Charlottesville, VA wedding was a beautiful two day affair.
They were supported by the their closest friends and family at the beautiful Barboursville Vineyards.
It began with wine, laughs and tender moments on the rehearsal day.
Kristiaan and I quickly realized there was a special buzz in the air between family and friends.
A buzz that reminded us of our wedding.
Visually, we are drawn towards physical connections, happiness and genuine affection, and Aly and Ale's wedding had all of the above and more.
We met Cristina and Scott through our mutual friend Maggie and immediately hit it off.
We had the same inappropriate humor so we knew we were made for each other.
Their engagement session was nothing short of amazing and have had we many good times prior to their wedding.
The wedding followed suit with perfection: an amazing loving, happy family, a fabulously fun bridal party and a group of friends that made us wish we were guests at their wedding.
Lets also not forget to mention the beautiful venue The Oaks, topped of with a side of perfect weather.
You could have never guessed that Lauren and Cameron's wedding day started as a rainy Saturday morning.
But clearly the wedding gods had other plans.
Perfect weddings come togther when the people have great connection, good times and are genuinely happy to be celebrating with loved ones.
Lauren and Cameron's family, bridal party and guests really made this day perfect for us as photographer's.
Enjoy a smidge of our favorites below!
We should also mention the days events and visual wouldnt have been possible without the team of Taylor & Hov and the gorgeous Fairmont Hotel DC.
Yes and we love it!

A first look is when the couple has chosen to see each other before the ceremony.
They usually do this so they can spend more time enjoying their guests after the ceremony, attend the cocktail hour, or simply have more time for portraits.
