I'm lucky enough to be engaged (so I know exactly what you're going through!) to the love of my life, John. Together, we have a home full of animals, go to too many concerts, and cook amazing foods in a tiny kitchen. I earned my bachelors and masters degrees in photojournalism from the University of Missouri, *cough cough* known as the best journalism school in the nation.

Throughout my schooling, I trained closely with award-winning photojournalists Rita Reed and David Rees, and I've worked with organizations like USA Today and The Nature Conservancy. I always thought I'd end up as a National Geographic photographer chasing down wildlife (a la Tiger King), but I think my job now is way better. My journey to becoming a wedding photographer was a tad accidental.

It began in 2014 when I had contacted a local wedding photographer to be a subject in a project on small business ownership. After I completed my project, she offered me a side job helping out at her photo sessions. What started as an easy minimum wage job grew rapidly, and two years later, she had me managing her company nearly full time.
Services
I bring a documentary approach to your heirloom wedding photos, all while controlling the chaos that inevitably comes with big days that involve so many friends and family.
My job?
To make it easy and keep you relaxed.
I want you to enjoy your time in front of the camera - it'll just feel like you're on the best date of your life.
With me, the photography feels less like "just another part of the day, " and more like something you actually look forward to.
Having done this job for seven years, I've seen it all, so you can trust that.
You're going to spend more time with your photographer than any other vendor on your wedding day.
It's important that you not only love their work, but you also get along with them.
I've been lucky enough to document weddings across the country, and I've figured out what makes my heart pound the hardest.
I'm so in love with what I do that I've cried at every wedding I've ever shot.
But this disclaimer is to say, if you're looking for the cheapest photographer who's just going to show up and document the posed photos, we might not be the best fit.
Basically in easy steps, it's: Receive your inquiry, picture a little inspo about your wedding, and then I'll email you back with whether I'm available and to set up a phone call so we can chat details!.
If you contact me during those dates, please know it may take a little longer for me to respond!
From understanding client needs and communications to managing vendor relationships to actually doing the job you were hired to do, it can get a bit overwhelming.
I was lucky enough to have a mentor when I started my career, but I know not everyone has that luxury.
So if you're thinking to yourself, "I want to start, but I don't know where, " Let me help you!
I believe it's our responsibility to change the wedding world - to make it more inclusive, more approachable, but also to raise the bar as a professional industry.
