Our favorite thing about wedding photography is the offbeat moments. We want to photograph the REAL you; the honest love and humor and emotion of all your friends and family. At the same time, Mom and Grandma want beautiful formal portraits. Don't worry. We'll wrangle your families into stunning portraits, and it'll happen so fast that they'll feel like they weren't even posing.

Years and years from now, we hope our pictures will stop your heart for a moment and make you feel the essence of someone you love. We aim to be one of the best wedding photographers in the NYC area. That means providing you with both photojournalistic candids and gorgeous, exquisitely composed portraits. And, we design heirloom albums and beautiful framed prints.

It also means being there to answer your questions and give you advice at any step along the way. One of our favorite things about living and working in NYC is meeting new people and getting to know their traditions. We've photographed all kinds of celebrations with couples from almost every culture and background.
Services
We specialize in natural, documentary-style wedding and lifestyle photography and simple, modern album design.
We love working with down-to-earth couples who share our passions: food, travel, art, design, the outdoors, mountain biking, and DIY.
I was born and raised in Japan.
After I graduated from high school, I was looking for something fun and meaningful to do.
So I came to the U.S., even though I wasn't sure what I would find and I didn't speak any English.
I took English classes at a community college and eventually decided to go to art school in Washington D.C.
Although we specialize in candid photography, we should also mention that Kyo very occasionally offers a little direction to help capture some artistic shots.
If possible, he likes to have at least 20 minutes alone with you (the bride and groom) shortly after the ceremony.
The rest of the wedding day will be such a whirlwind, it's always wonderful to have pictures of just the two of you sharing a short, peaceful interlude.
Kyo is inspired by the masters of documentary street photography like Elliot Erwitt, Henri Cartier-Bresson, and Robert Frank, and some fashion photographers who have a flair for the unexpected, like Peter Lindbergh and Deborah Turbeville.
We can't thank you enough for all the AMAZING pictures you captured of our special day.
Each picture is better than the last - I have too many favorites!
From the "getting ready" photos, to the beautiful ones from the ceremony, to the airplane and beach session, to the dance party and sparklers send off, you were able to document each and every moment of the best day of our lives!
I find myself looking at our photos daily and reliving that wonderful day - thank you for allowing us to do this for years to come!
Unique wedding photography: NJ, NYC, and beyond.
Highlights from weddings we have covered everywhere from the Jersey Shore to Brooklyn, from the Hamptons to Philadelphia, from Manhattan to Greenwich, from Europe to Japan, and many spots in between.
We adore our Fine Art Wedding Albums and love the process of telling the story of your wedding in a hand-crafted book that you'll be able to share with your grandchildren.
Our wedding photography rates are the same for all weddings within 60 miles of our home base in New Jersey, which includes Manhattan, Brooklyn, Northern New Jersey, Princeton, Hunterdon County, the Jersey Shore, and Philadelphia, and all the areas in between.
Kyo is Japanese and grew up outside Osaka, while Janna is American but spent part of her childhood in Europe.
So we love working with couples who come from different cultures and we are very comfortable working in diverse settings and with a wide range of people.
It's probably no surprise, then, that we love working with people who are planning a destination wedding.
One thing that many of our destination weddings have had in common is that the bride and groom picked their wedding location because it had deep personal meaning for them.
